Dear Sir and Madam,
Visitors to the ISH 2011 in Frankfurt were able to experience and take a closer look at the heart of SCHAKO’s trade fair presentation live. All the SCHAKO products on display were controlled and monitored with the trade fair novelty EasyBus. This EasyBus system was and continues to be the central communication point at SCHAKO.
The signalling and switching bus system EasyBus allows nearly all electrical and mechanical actuators for ventilation technology and fire protection to be simultaneously controlled and monitored. A single main is sufficient for the power supply and communication – on top of everything else, positive side effects here include reduced assembly effort and thermal load due to much more streamlined building wiring.
The flexible network topology allows you to select between a star, tree or linear formation. Naturally, existing EasyBus networks can be expanded at any time and at any point.
The EasyEco limit switch takes over monitoring functions for the mechanical fire dampers in the EasyBus system. The EasyEco limit switch generates electric power for transmitting the damper position to the Easy Receivers through the induction produced from the rotating motion of the limit switch. The limit switch thus functions entirely without an electric connection or maintenance-intensive batteries or rechargeable batteries. Motorised fire dampers, smoke detectors and flow control regulators, as well as temperature sensors, for example, are integrated into the system and controlled through corresponding modules.
Web server-compatible software takes over monitoring and control functions in the EasyBus network. This can be operated easily by touch screen in the control cabinet or via a network PC. No auxiliary software is required for the PC; access takes place economically via the web browser. The software allows various user levels, which grant a range of access rights.
Naturally, the EasyBus network can also be integrated into the central building control systems via the Easy Controller M90.
Like all security bus systems, the status of modules in the EasyBus system is determined by cyclic monitoring (polling). Polling ensures that all the components are functioning properly and do not merely transmit a signal at the change of status. The polling time per master device takes the EasyBus system less than four seconds when connected to 100 bus subscribers, so that a spring return actuator is polled about five times, before being closed by means of spring tension.
Implementation at Gruner AG in Wehingen:
In the multi-functional extension to the Gruner AG building in Wehingen, EasyBus not only operates the fire protection surveillance on a total area of 1,989 square metres, but also carries out the entire volumetric flow rate control.
The cost advantage provided through lower assembly effort of the ribbon cable was one of the decisive points in Gruner AG’s decision to commission SCHAKO. Simple expandability, possible at any time and at any point, also tipped the decision in favour of the EasyBus. A further advantage for Gruner is the use of actuators which have been developed in-house. A total of six lines were installed here as “backbones”, enabling simple installation while also ensuring that pre-planned expansions are easier to implement.
The monitored fire protection information and VAV actual or target values are transmitted via Ethernet to the central building control systems. This allows them to be viewed on all the terminals. The air volumes can also be changed to the desired values directly at the terminals, ensuring that the optimal atmospheric environment is always provided.
“SCHAKO – the ideal climate for every building!”
If you would also like a single system from a single source and only a single contact person for your ventilation technology, then you have come to the right place. Do you have any questions? Can we call you back? Then simply click here.
Best regards,

Dr. Marcus Müller
